A KL2 head was gutted and one of my new 38 mm reflectors was chopped down to fit in the
head. A custom LED and converter pod was made that mates with the base of the reflector
and uses the original contact spring assembly. The converter is a DownBoy 917. The
LOTC was modified with a McE2S two stage switch and a resistor of 30 ohms which yields
a light output (1 meter) of 240 lux on low whereas the high is 2470 lux. The KL6 (shown
with this mod) measured 2030 lux. It has a very similar beam with a slightly sharper "edge"
to it than the KL6. The angle of the spill beam is larger than the KL6 which would be
expected since the reflector is not as deep.
