Taken at 9:06 AM (Low Tide in Lahaina predicted as -0.6' at 8:19 AM) the flow was steady and strong:

After capturing a hooked green sea turtle and going out looking for another reported entangled turtle the following images were taken:

There was a 3' deep from the surface haze out and around the point at Black Rock. It dissipated the further out and away from the cliff. The shot above was
at a distance from the jetty where you would rarely see any fresh water indication or silt from the inlet. The shot below was taken at 10:54 AM and out from
the jetty and a few feet below the surface:

This shot below was taken at the surface and the fresh water blurs the focus:

Shots of the inlet don't do justice for the bright green, opaque, color of the water.

The next day, 5-26-21 I arrived at 9:20 and proceeded to take some drone images. I assumed that the minus tide (-0.6' at 8:54) would again involve a flow
of algae rich water from parts unknown. Short video:
Some still shots from the drone:

In images above and below, you can see the edge of the algae bloom in the ocean.

The dark shape at the upper part of the image below and just off from the cliff is an akule ball.

At the upper end of the inlet, the algae is not readily apparent, possibly due to how shallow it is or due to the dilution by the time the tide turns.

some floating wetland in the water in the image above and below.

I am guessing that there are goldfish here?!?

Being unfamiliar with the Kaanapali resort area I happened to notice on the way out a water feature near the entrance and stopped to take some pics with
my phone. You can't tell from the images due to the reflection on the smooth surface but the water was very green and opaque. I suspect this is the source.

The image below is adjacent to the main entrance road (Kaanapali Parkway) and possibly a culvert?

Using Google satellite image I have identified the water feature and location I viewed it from:

I went back in the afternoon to see what the inlet looked like at a 2.5' high tide. I also noticed while driving down that there is an extension to this water
feature on the other side of Kaanapali Parkway and it spreads north within the golf course. Duh! It is that much more water and also green with algae.

The inlet at Black Rock was full and all green.

Looking south to the additional water feature:
