Juvenile barracuda in at the shoreline:

Amberjacks out at the cleaning station:

Akule ball:

Amberjacks working the akule

Omilu also working the ball for any injured or stragglers.

When I would get close to an amberjack it would circle and get even closer to me.

Short video of the akule and omilu and amberjacks:

The amberjacks took off:

And a brown booby showed up! It made a few dives at the akule ball.

After an unsuccessful dive:

Taking off:

Starting another dive:

Under water it has started back to the surface with a fish:

I swam towards the booby snapping away with the camera held forward but having forgotten to zoom out, I got out of focus shots of water and not what I

was seeing which was the bird working on swallowing the akule it caught. I was sure I was getting some incredible shots with the bird looking at me as

I got closer. I even went for a split shot as it was preparing to take off which turned out to at least get part of the bird in view:

It was probably a once in a life time opportunity which I blew big time!!

On the way in, we encountered a porcupine puffer that had a bulge in its belly.

Leah getting a shot of it:

A school of needle fish were hanging around a cleaning station but the fresh water at the surface precluded any decent shots:

Two of the introduced snappers; bluestripe and blacktail have found safety in the protected bay:

Encountered the juvenile barracuda again and tried to get an ID shot of its right side but it was not game.

Back to the bay two days later. 11-23-2021:
