Spring has finally brought some good visibility and conditions to Airport Beach.

Today, 4-9-10, I found a couple fish from last year. The larger frog fish:

And the pink/ white leaf scorpion fish:

I showed these fish to some new friends and beyond the reef at the turtle scratching post, we saw a green sea turtle who came up and joined us at the surface:

Yesterday I swam the reef with my video camera and while surfacing from a visit with the frog fish, a turtle swam right under me and it was an old friend, "Friendly". I turned the video camera back on as I was headed to the surface and followed her a bit before returning once again to the frog fish. Video:

Next day, 4-10-10 the vis was still good and I tried to get some stills of the school of goat fish as well as the more elusive Heller's Barracuda which had allowed me to get so close when I had my video camera.

On the next day, 4-11-10 I again encountered the barracudas and with better shots now, have removed those few from above. The frogfish was also found but considerably further south on the reef:

I also got a marginal shot of some halfbeaks which seemed to school on the surface and above the barracuda.

Later in April..

The frogfish is moving around significantly out at reef's edge. I got my hand in there for a

sense of scale and to illustrate how much it has grown.
