These are additional images following the Java Invasion of last year.

I recently made a lava rock tower and a large coral rock tower in the back yard. Both are founded on a titanium shaft that is securely anchored in the hard red dirt in the coral tower case and securely embedded in a large rock in the smaller lava rock tower. I scooped out the top coral rock and have been pouring bird seed into this depression as well as other holes and depressions in the coral rocks.

There is also a umbrella plant growing in a pocket I made in one of the coral rocks which you can see on the right of the bottom rock in the picture above.

Now that the birds are congregating in the back yard and I often sit at a small bar top, on the back Lanai, with the laptop, they have taken to bothering me there for seed. A few of the more insistent have me hand feeding again:

These courageous ones don't have to fight with the others for the seed.

Another day and from a different angle:

Close crop of above:

Closer look:

More of the java's are getting comfortable with demanding seed and taking hand outs...

One of these birds has become quite comfortable to the extent of landing on your feet, head or whatever. I have started putting some seed in a film can to make hand feeding more interesting and this particular bird is quite comfortable sticking its head into the can even if the can is in the bottom of my fist:

I am calling this rather brave bird, BB. The kitchen sliding door is just to the left of the and behind camera of these deck shots. The slider was open and BB saw the seed bottle on the kitchen counter. The birds stare into the kitchen and do know where the seed comes from. Anyway, the door was open:

BB is just taking flight from the seed bottle. BB and her mate now come to the front door looking for me or in truth, for a free hand out. I hear a knock at the window.
