This SureFire E1E had the bezel bored out to accept a 9 LED module.
The LED's are Nichia NSPW312BS.
A constant current driver by Wayne Yamaguchi provides 275 mA to the LED's
which are wired in Parallel.
The center of the beam is not quite as bright as an Opalec NewBeam. The beam angle
of this light is much broader than the Opalec. With a beam shaper placed on the Opalec,
the resulting beam is about half as bright as this 9 cluster. The cathode side of the LED
circuit is soldered at 4 points to the copper can. The can in turn makes a firm
mechanical contact with the battery barrel. This will hopefully aid in dissipating heat from
the LED's.
