Juvenile humpback was active tail slapping and throwing its peduncle.

After slapping very close to us, it gave us a fly by:

I put the drone up to follow its action and in a short while, it's noise and activity brought some adults over;

perhaps not welcome.

We encountered a mom and calf going though a series of rest modes with mom mostly chin out and tail down.

She would level off horizontally and the calf would drop below presumably for some chow and then she would

return to a vertical rest mode.

During one of the horizontal phases, the calf disappeared from the surface and next we knew, it was coming up

side to side with our boat and it even gave a gentile nudge. I missed the first part since I had no camera in hand

but did catch the latter part of the visit.
