A few days ago, I came in from whale watching and swam the reef with my surfski in tow. I immediately came upon a Hawksbill turtle which I believe was Melinda. I got back to the surfski to remove my camera so I could take a shot. When I started swimming towards the turtle, it bolted from presumed fear or concern. I believe my surfski following behind me startled the turtle and perhaps it thought of it as a large predator on the surface. Today the winds were too strong to consider paddling out to the whales so I swam the reef looking for some old friends. Melinda was there and I took the photos below:
